Giving

The teachings and practice opportunities at Just Show Up are offered freely, on the basis of “dana” or voluntary giving, recognition in the Zen tradition that giver, receiver and gift are one.

Giving dana allows us to benefit from the practice of generosity, to acknowledge the exchange that already is taking place, to both take our place in the unfolding of the natural world and offer ourselves to the unfolding of our practice and community.

Dana for Sangha Operating Expenses

Dana provides funds to pay the various costs associated with the sangha, including maintaining the website, Zoom subscription, fees for membership in the San Francisco Zen Center Branching Streams organization and the Lay Zen Teachers Association, website fees for listing on the Insight LA website, and the reimbursement of occasional guest speakers.  We welcome monthly donations if you are a regular member of our community.

Dana for Sangha Administration can be made as follows:

Venmo: Just Show Up Zen Sangha (picture of a red zen circle on yellow)

Paper check sent by mail:  Ava Stanton, 225 Ninth Street East, #303, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55101  (Please note on the check that the donation is for the “Just Show Up operating expenses”)

Dana for Teaching

It is traditional in Zen practice that we give dana to those who provide our direct instruction. Our teacher Ava Stanton and our Practice Leader Bob Zeglovitch gratefully accept dana for their offerings.
